It’s normal to feel nervous before a boudoir session, especially if it’s your first one. Here are some tips for making your boudoir photo session both successful and fun!

Boudoir Photo Planning and Preparation for a Fun and Successful Experience

  1. Outfit Selection: Choose 3-5 outfits that make you feel confident and beautiful. Try them on before the session! Don’t be afraid to let your personality shine through your outfit choices. Need some inspiration? Look at my favorites here: I always suggest having at least one outfit that is supportive up top, because some poses you will be laying on your back, and we all need a little extra support when we are laying on our backs! And bring heels if you have them. I won’t make you walk in them unless you want to, but they do work well with certain poses. Having outfits that you love and that will fit will help make your boudoir session successful and fun! 2. Grooming: Consider waxing or shaving and moisturizing a few days before the session. Avoid spray tans or tanning lotions, as they can create an orange glow that cannot be retouched after the session. Paint your nails if you would like!
  3. Health and Wellness: Drink plenty of water and eat healthy meals in the weeks leading up to the session. Avoid heavy meals that might cause bloating on the day of the shoot.
  4. Comfort Items: Bring a snack, water, and any specific items you may need for the session, such as jewelry or a favorite drink.

On the Day of the Session

  1. Arrive On time: Allow plenty of time to arrive even a few minutes early. This will help you feel at ease and ready for your boudoir session. We don’t want you stressed from sitting in traffic!
  2. Wear Comfortable Clothing: Opt for loose-fitting clothing and undergarments to avoid impressions on the skin.
  3. Relax and Enjoy: Remember, this is your day to dress up, get pampered, and feel confident. Embrace the experience and have fun.

By following these tips, you can prepare for your boudoir photo session, make your boudoir session successful and fun, and make the most of this empowering and confidence-boosting experience.
